West Coast Dirtybird Campout, next victim of COVID-19

COVID-19[female[feminine does not discriminate, even when it comes to festivals. The last event to fall is the label Dirtybird’s Festival; Dirtybird Campout West Coast, which was postponed from October 8 to 10, 2021 amid the uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus and the unprecedented number of festivals that have already been postponed until October of this year.

In a statement on their Facebook page, they announced:

“This is one of the most difficult decisions we have had to make, but we have decided to postpone Dirtybird Campout West Coast until October 2021. With all the uncertainty and the sheer number of festivals that have already passed as of October 2020, we no longer feel that Dirtybird Campout can shine as it should.

The postponement is unfortunate, as the festival is known to be one of the most unique festivals in the world. Dirtybird describes the Campout experience on the Facebook event page, explaining that it is:

“Half a music festival, half an adult summer camp, Campout will probably top the list of the craziest parties you’ve ever attended.”

Founder of Dirtybird and organizer of the festival, Claude VonStroke, noted:

“I love camping more than anything we do and no one on Earth wanted me to try to do it in 2020 anymore, but it’s impossible. We run the camp with our own money and we just can’t compete with all of the events that happened in the fall. “

The number of festivals that have been postponed to the second half of the year is staggering. The rescheduling of massive events, such as Coachella and EDC Las Vegas, has made it nearly impossible for many smaller festivals and festivals that have yet to announce a new date, to host a festival between August and October.

Having to wait another year to witness the unique experience that is the Dirtybird Campout West Coast is certainly disappointing for ticket holders, but was definitely a necessary decision. Although, if you’re desperate for a Dirtybird fix, their Birtybird INN Camp The festival is always ready to go, taking place in Orlando, Florida, September 4-7. Buy your CampINN tickets here.
