Toast to the Coast Festival returns to The Marina Mindarie

Eat, drink and play around Marina Mindarie on Saturday with the return of its Toast to the Coast festival.

Celebrating local produce, producers and curators, the free event from 12-4:30 p.m. will feature stalls and gourmet food samples, wine, cider and WA craft beer tastings, live music, traveling entertainment and activities for children.

The on-site Indian Ocean Brewing Company will have a street food stand featuring spit-roasted pork rolls and chili con carne with crispy nachos, while The Boat will serve freshly shucked oysters with a selection of condiments and pork belly banh mi .

Other local producers offering produce to sample include Bluey Zarzov’s Hotsauce, Little Eden Farm Apiary, Outback Beef Jerky, Eco Bread, and Mucho Loco.

The Indian Ocean will also have its craft beers to sample, as well as tastings from Forester Estate, Alkoomi Wines, Westcape Howe and Hayshed Hill, Fifth Estate Wines, Spirit of Little Things Gin, Archie Rose Distilling Company, Funk Cider and Custard and Co. . .

The Cabana also hosts a special festival edition of its poolside Gin Club at 2 p.m., offering two hours of free drinks and light snacks. Tickets are $55 and Reservations are essential.

Live music will be featured throughout the marina, with DJs and acoustic artists Jordy and Jhoe Mura on the boardwalk, or party band Blue Gene at The Boat followed by a dancefloor DJ until late.

And kids can cruise around Life Boat enjoying magic, face-painting and giant bubble shows before a sunset screening of Johnny English.

Hospitality venues in Scarborough and Perth are also planning to raise a glass this weekend to celebrate the lifting of their COVID-19 restrictions.

These include The Peach Pit, The Galway Hooker and Market Grounds which offer half-price draft beers and ciders as well as $10 signature Gin Tonicas from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays.

ARK Group Chief Executive Adam Kapinkoff said this weekend marked “a huge step forward for our hospitality industry and its recovery”.

“This Saturday we all want to celebrate getting back to normal with good drinks, music and dancing,” he said.
