The 44th Annual Festival of the Sea makes a stopover in Point Pleasant

The Jersey Shore is more than a vision or a day of body surfing. It may well feed our souls, but it literally feeds us too. Get ready for a seafood feast like no other as it’s time for the 44th Festival of the Sea at beautiful Point Pleasant Beach.

My husband will tell you that I like to taste a little bit of everything because the man hasn’t had a plate of food for him when he’s been to a restaurant in the 20 years since I’ve had him meet. The Festival Of The Sea is known for this, tasting seafood vendors and the wines that go with them. You know, a little of this, a little of that. I mean, any place with a designated vineyard garden is mine and that’s exactly what you can expect again this year.

Downtown Point Pleasant Beach will buzz Saturday on Arnold and Bay Avenues from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. for the Seafood Festival Dreams Are Made Of. What is your vice? Lobster rolls? Shrimp Skewers? Crab cakes? They will have everything for them!

The event is hosted by the Point Pleasant Chamber of Commerce and over 250 vendors are said to attend. That’s a lot of lobster bisque. There will also be live music, kid-friendly activities and that wine garden I keep mentioning so we can Chardonnay all day. The rain date is Sunday.
