SUU’s Department of Theatre, Dance and Arts Administration presents a community celebration of caring and giving with its eighth annual Festival of Trees. This family-friendly holiday event takes place December 9-11, 2021 in the lobby of the Randall L. Jones Theater. Viewing hours on December 9 and 10 will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on December 11, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. While canned food donations must be brought to the theater to benefit Iron County Care and Share, all events are free and open to the public.

The Festival of Trees is not only a community event to celebrate the season, but also a way to raise money for Iron County Care and Share. All of the trees on display were decorated and provided by local businesses and individuals. These trees are donated to the festival and will be sold at a silent auction, with all proceeds going to Iron County Care and Share.

During all open days there will be a place where visitors can bid on trees. The winning bids will be announced on December 13 and the trees delivered shortly thereafter. In support of the Festival of Trees, with a donation of a tin can, the Department of Theatre, Dance and Arts Administration is offering a $2 discount on the price of admission to the musical by Stephen Sondheim In the woods.

Saturday, December 11 will truly be a family day at the festival. Starting at 10:30 a.m., there will be readings of Christmas stories as well as a coloring workshop and a contest for children.

Get into the spirit of the holiday season with this family and charity event. For more information or inquiries about donating a tree, please contact Brian Swanson, [email protected] or 435-865-8674.
