The two new TT venues, Hooded Ram Festival and Bushy’s TT Village, offer local bands plenty of live performance opportunities and the public the chance to attend great concerts.

Tonight, local rock band Broken Rooster will headline at Bushy’s. The group includes Mike Cowin on vocals; Darren Gray and Mike Guplea on guitar; Graham Stephenson on bass and Adrian Gray on drums.

They originally formed in February 2010 as The 3 Amigos, and reformed as Broken Rooster in 2017. Their set is built around rock, blues, indie covers and originals.

On Saturday night, Bushy’s hosts the ska band Buncha Skankers, followed on Sunday by Symbollix who formed in 2010 under the name “Five Blokes”.

The name changed to Symbollix after the first staff change in 2011. After two more roster changes in 2013, Symbollix became the current five-man roster.

The group is rooted mainly in classic 70s rock. The setlist combines ZZ Top, The Who, Wings, Bad Company, Whitesnake, Cream and The Rolling Stones and features John Ruscoe, George Hughes, John Ryan, Martin McEvely and Stewart Steptoe in their line-up.

The current squad has over 150 years of combined experience performing in live bands, so you can expect a great night out guaranteed to rock your rock!

The Hooded Ram Festival has a dance party on Fridays with Riffs at the Ram followed by Dead Princes.

The latter is composed of McKenna on vocals; Owain on “guitar and noises”; Phil on bass and Mike on drums and screams. They play a set filled with modern and classic rock covers and aim to “make your ears bleed (in a good way)”.

A number of local bands will perform in both venues, including Tomorrow’s Story which headlined at Bushy’s on Monday and is scheduled to perform at the Hooded Ram Festival next Wednesday (June 6).

The indie rock band, consisting of Mike Willmott on rhythm guitar and vocals; Jake Grimshaw on lead guitar and backing vocals; Dom Scaddan on bass and backing vocals, and Ryan Kinnin on drums, are signed to the Spinnup label. They won second place at this year’s Guild in Battle of The Bands 2018 – Original Songs, which was judged by Paul Roberts of The Stranglers.
