Groundwater Country Music Festival adds more talent to 2022 lineup
After revealing a bumper first crop of artists earlier this year (including Fanny Lumsden, Travis Collins and Brooke McClymont & Adam Eckersley), Groundwater Country Music Festival (CMF) has added 18 more acts to its 2022 lineup.
For three days and three nights of (free) country music beats and grooves, Groundwater CMF returns to Broadbeach from the Gold Coast from October 28-30.
Newcomers include a stack of Australian expat talent set to showcase their wares in front of local audiences, including Nashville-based country-pop duo Seaforth – who won the 2020 APRA Awards (Global) Breakthrough Songwriter Of The Year – in their only appearance in Queensland.
“It’s been a while from our Australian tour, so we can’t wait to get home and kick off our series of shows at Groundwater CMF. It’s our only show in Queensland, so we’d love to see you,” Seaforth shares.
Other Australian artists heading home include bluegrass performer Kristy Cox (who released her new album ‘Shades Of Blue’ in February) and sister Brisbane trio Dozzi – who have established themselves in the local scene of Nashville.
Then there’s INXS member Andrew Farriss (who went solo the American rock route) alongside New Zealand favorite Tami Neilson, who’s back for her only Australian performance this year.
Tami adds, “Coming to play in Australia for the first time in three years is going to be like a long drink of water after being in the desert! I can’t wait to sing for you all!”
Other highlights of the new generation of artists are Andrew Swift, Jayne Denham, The Viper Creek Band, Darlinghurst, Chloe Styler, Montgomery Church and Hayley Marsden.
Groundwater CMF continues to support local emerging talent with Max Jackson, winner of Star Maker 2022, and Bella MacKenzie, winner of the inaugural KIX-Start competition, joining in on the action.
“We are thrilled to be able to add some amazing international talent to our 2022 Groundwater CMF program and to also welcome some of our own local stars to our home,” said Mark Duckworth, Groundwater CMF Festival Director.
“I can’t wait to kick back and enjoy some amazing live music and share it all with our loyal festival fans on the beautiful Gold Coast.”
Groundwater Country Music Festival is free and takes place in Broadbeach (Gold Coast) from October 28-30.
