First SPRINGTIME offers free music festival experience on the Gold Coast

With a focus on spotlighting Australian artists as well as emerging local talent, SPRINGTIME is an inaugural festival taking place on the Gold Coast (September 2-4) which aims to grow the event for to become the biggest free music event in the country.

No tricks. No gimmicks. No hidden fees. Just free live music. To attend, all you have to do is book a flight and accommodation, then get up to witness some of the best musical talent Oz has to offer.

Queen of pop Gamilaraay Thelma Plum, surf-garage rock trio Skegss and electronic hip hop duo Hermitude will headline the 2022 event – all three have graced some of Australia’s biggest festival stages has to offer.

“See you on the Goldy in September,” enthused Skegss.

Still, that’s just the tip of the action, with artists like Sneaky Sound System, Alex The Astronaut, JK-47, Skunkhour, Haiku Hands, Ninajirachi, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers, The Lazy Eyes and triple j host and DJ Ebony Boadu also directed to SPRINGTIME.

To be hosted on multiple outdoor stages alongside select partner sideshow venues, SPRINGTIME will also incorporate the Gold Coast Music Awards, which will be held in the iconic HOTA arts district.

“We can’t think of a better way to welcome spring to the coast than with an all-ages contemporary music festival like SPRINGTIME,” said festival director Mark Duckworth.

“The Gold Coast has such a caliber of artists emerging from the city and we look forward to showcasing their music alongside the best in the country, in this perfect location.

“To also be able to celebrate stage achievements over the weekend with our partners, the Gold Coast Music Awards will be making an annual party not to be missed.”

Other artist additions to SPRINGTIME include IVEY, Teenage Dads, Peach Fur, DVNA, Saint Lane, EUCA, Buttered, The Oogars, and Girl & Girl.

There will also be DJ sets from BEKS, VICES, Fletcher, Just Jessie, Gia & Latour and Samin & Lotnnic.

SPRINGTIME takes place in Surfers Paradise (Gold Coast) from September 2-4 and is free.
